1970年Eric Clapton加入Derek and the Dominos，
這張專輯特別要請Duane Allman助陣,在這張專輯中
Clapton徹底傾訴了自己對好友George Harrison
（披頭四吉他手）之妻Pattie的愛意及畸戀中自己的痛苦。

　在"Layla"一曲中，Duane Allman彈奏slide guitar，
Clapton嘶喊絕望的歌聲，兩人對飆solo，到後段氣氛一轉，
鋼琴與吉他以優美感傷的旋律收尾。Duane Allman在不久後
因車禍去世，使"Layla"更顯得珍貴，"Layla"可說是Clapton
一生中顛峰之作。
